Bertie and Bells was formed in 2017 by myself, Helen. I live in Horsham as well as work here, so you can trust that you’re working with someone who knows and loves the area. I’ve had the nickname ‘Bells’ for as long as I can remember, and the company is named after myself and Bertie, my Miniature Schnauzer.


We are a small, privately run company with a family feel, priding ourselves on the range and high standard of individualised care & support we provide. With our dedicated Team of passionate, qualified Carers, we really can make a difference



The Company is run by myself, and my very good friend Jenny, whom I have known for over ten years. With my background in operations, and Jenny’s vast experience in the care sector, you can trust the service that we provide. Our combined strengths in organisation and care, alongside our love for what we do, make us an incredible Team.
Bells

Helen Withecombe

Founder, owner, registered manager

Helen has a diverse work-past. Never having had a particular ‘calling’, she started her working life in the food industry, moved on to ferro alloys and then into construction. All roles were in the PA / Admin / Office Manager field; organisation is her forte! Ten years ago, she ‘fell’ into care and found her ‘calling’, falling in love with it so much so, she decided to open her own company.
Bertie

AKA Ladytricks, Jammy Dodger

Miniature Schnauzer, head of biscuits, office manager

Bertie is Helen’s faithful Miniature Schnauzer friend, who is by her side through ‘thick and thin’. He may be little, but likes to think he’s “top dog” and has an outsize personality. Whilst chaotic at home, he is a very calming presence in the office and also when out visiting Clients. He likes to grumble, but means nothing by it, and loves nothing more than being stroked and made a fuss of.
Jenny

CARE MANAGER

Jenny started as a Carer when she was 23 years old. She has worked as a Carer for inter county nursing services and has experience as a Registered Manager. She is passionate about delivering a high quality, caring service, to help people maintain their independence at home.
Donna

CARE CO-ORDINATOR

Donna has worked in care since 2004, with private P.A. roles and experience in managing care homes. Domiciliary care has offered Donna a new challenge, whilst still being able to apply the knowledge she has gained over the years.

Our Carers are hand picked for their friendly, caring, compassionate nature, and 'can do' approach. Our Team go through a rigorous induction and training programme to ensure that care is given in a friendly, professional, supportive, safe and dignified way.

Everyone is DBS checked (for criminal offences) and references are sought.
